Top 10 Recommended WordPress Plugins 2012
Everyone knows that I love WordPress. It’s free, and is a great way to make a fabulous website that you can update yourself.
And one of my favorite features about WordPress are the Plugins. They can enhance your site not only visually but for SEO purposes as well.
These are my top 10 Recommended WordPress Plugins.
1. All in One SEO Pack
All in One SEO Pack is all you need for your on page SEO. Ok, not all of your on page SEO needs, but it does set up your META tags, which is important for your click through rate. This is one Plugin I cannot live without, and either should you if you want more control of your Title and Description in search engines.
Redirecting broken links is important not just for user experience, but for SEO reasons as well. The plugin Redirection makes it easy to redirect any page of your choice. It is a powerful little plugin that every WordPress Website should have!
3. Broken Link Checker
I love this plugin. You never want to have links leaving your site to be broken. Broken Link Checker scans your site, and when it finds a link that no longer works, it notifies you via email. It is a great way to keep your website constantly updated, and again, great for SEO reasons!
4. Ultimate Google Analytics
I love Google Analytics. It is free, and easy to install on your site to keep track of what your visitors are doing. Yes, Google may stalk us and use the information against us (at times), but for the average website it so does not matter (and if you are doing what you should do, which is have good content, you have nothing to worry about!)
Ultimate Google Analytics makes tracking your site super easy. You just add your code, and you are done!
You know all those fun little share buttons? You know, to Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, etc? It gives your visitors the ability to share your content on various social network sites.
This is what Shareaholic does. Not only does it give you cool little buttons and a lot of settings, but it also keeps track of how much your content was shared!
6. Twitter Widget Pro
Twitter is still a great social media platform, and if you aren’t on Twitter, than get on it! Twitter Widget Pro is a great way you can show your visitors what you are tweeting about! It is a live feed of your twitter account, and has various settings that you can choose from.
7. Add Link to Facebook
This is a new plugin I found, and while it is advanced, it is very powerful. Add Link to Facebook basically links your WordPress website with your Facebook wall. So everytime you post a page or update, it is automatically posted on Facebook. You can even sync comments!
You do have to create an app in Facebook in order to set it up, but once it is set up you don’t have to do anything!
8. Contact Form 7
Looking for a contact form for your website, so your visitors can easily reach out to you? Then Contact Form 7 is for you. Put as many fields as you would like and you can set it up for your look and feel.
9. Widget Logic
Widget Logic is another advanced plugin, but it is a great way to limit widgets to only one page of your site, or remove it from one page. Basically, with this, you can control where your widgets are viewed on your site.
It does take some advanced settings, but it is basically easy with their guide.
10. WP Super Cache
WP Super Cache is another great plugin. If you change your theme’s design a lot, or change your content a lot, it can be frustrating if you don’t clear your cache properly. So I always install the plugin after I’m done making the design and changes.
Basically, this plugin caches your site so it has faster loading times. Site speed does matter in SEO, and it matters to your visitors as well. WP Super Cache is a must!
